Sri Lanka: Quran Sinhala Translation gifted to Religious Affairs Minister of Buddhism, Cabinet Minister

Welcoming the delegation respectfully, Honorable Minister while accepting the copy of Holy Qur’an Sinhala Translation said: A great gift of all: Such relationship – a need of the hour.

A three member delegation from the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at Sri Lanka (AMJSL) comprising Mr. A. Abdul Aziz, Press Secretary and National Director Faith Outreach – AMJSL, Moulavi A.B. Musthaq Ahmad – Chief Missionary (AMJSL), and Murabbi Javid Raheem, visited Ministry of Buddha Sasana and met Religious Affairs  Minister of Buddhism Honorable Gamini Jayawickrama Perera in Colombo recently (11 October 2017).

Welcoming the delegation respectfully, Honorable Minister while accepting the copy of Holy Qur’an Sinhala Translation said: A great gift of all: Such relationship – a need of the hour.

Minister went on to say that Sri Lankan history tells us on the relationship between Muslims and Sinhalese in the early period and continued that you are the only peaceful society among Muslims visiting us for the purpose of peace and religious harmony. He instructed the officials to include Ahmadiyya delegation to represent to the Committee of Religious Harmony of his Ministry.

Introducing the Sinhala Translation of the book World Crisis and the Pathway To Peace – A compilation of addresses in various Parliaments by His Holiness Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad, it was told about the tireless efforts being made by the Khalifa and the Ahmadiyya worldwide leader, Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad, by spreading the true teachings of Islam through various means, particularly addressing lawmakers at Capitol Hill, EU Parliament, UK Parliament, Ireland Parliament, New Zealand Parliament, Dutch Parliament, Canada Parliament and so on so forth. On hearing this, Honorable Minister remarked: A great valuable task, you are all doing – a praiseworthy one.

The Minister once again thanked the delegation and said: I will read Holy Qur’an and the books presented.

Peace Messages and Sinhala Translation of Teachings of Islam, written by Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad – the Promised Messiah and Imam-al-Mahdi, peace be on him, were also gifted to the Minister.

Commissioner of Buddha Sasana (Buddhist Affairs) was also present on this meeting.
