Brinkum - Under the slogan "Love for all - hatred for none", the Ahmadiyya community hosted the "charity walk" charity run for the third time on Sunday at the Nasir Mosque.
Among the guests was Imam Syed Salman Shah, who is responsible for a total of ten municipalities in Northern Germany, including Vechta, Bremen, Oldenburg, Soltau, Stade and Bremerhaven. "We are trying to collect donations to help people in emergency situations," he said.
He was delighted that his community was so positively received by the Brink citizens for the last ten years.
Stuhrer Hospizverein receives most of the proceeds
On the outside in front of the mosque on Marie Curie Street, tables and benches were built, with refreshments and fruits for the participants. Moderator Altaf Bhatti announced that 80 percent of the proceeds were donated to the Stuhrer Hospizverein, while the world-wide charity organization "Humanity First" received 20 percent.
56 participants had registered, including 16 young children. They ran a distance of approximately 800 meters, the adults had to travel 4.6 kilometers.
In the participation fee of seven euros for adults and three euros for pupils and students T-shirt and the food were already included.
After the Charity Walk, a warm meal was served and the mosque opened for sightseeing.
